Frequently Asked Questions

Las Catalinas is right on Playa Danta. While staying in Beach Town, in Las Catalinas, you are never more than a five-minute walk from the ocean.
Las Catalinas is a beach town, with independent shops, businesses, and homeowners. However, thanks to partnerships between homeowners and service providers, Las Catalinas is able to offer several resort-like amenities, such as a town concierge, housekeeping, valet parking, and Beach Club access.
The water at Playa Danta has a pleasant temperature all year round, varying from 73.4 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit (23 to 30 degrees Celsius). The water is cooler from December to March because when the surface wind blows from land to sea, warm surface waters are pushed offshore, and cooler water is drawn from below. Interestingly, the replacement water is rich in nutrients, generating a greater concentration of fish, marine mammals, and other organisms.
Las Catalinas is a car-free town. The town’s valet service helps make the parking and car retrieval process easy and painless. Alternatively, the concierge team can arrange transportation to and from the airport. For exploring the area, taxis and organized experiences (land and sea) are available, as well as a car-sharing service that uses Central America’s only hydrogen-powered vehicle, which produces zero emissions.
In Las Catalinas, you will find two beautiful beaches, over 40 kilometers (~25 miles) of world-class hiking and mountain biking trails, restaurants, shops, and events. Las Catalinas is centrally located on the Guanacaste coast, near many interesting sights, including national parks, volcanoes, underwater reefs, zip lines, hot springs, whitewater rivers, and more.
Whether you’re in Las Catalinas for a day or a week, you don’t want to miss the sunset. Great sunset-viewing locations include the Beach Club, either by the pool or by the beach; Limonada; and the bar at Ponciana. Sentido Norte, at Casa Chameleon, is a bucket-list destination in Guanacaste, with panoramic views of the ocean and a fire show! Watersports at Playa Danta are another must-do: paddle-boarding, kayaking, and boogie-boarding are extremely popular. Ocean exploration, including snorkeling and scuba diving, can be fun and educational. The concierge team is more than happy to help you make the most of your stay.
